It's not necessary to purchase the instrument at the beginning. I will share with you places where you can rent a really good cello for about $50/month. And yes, it is insured!

Depending on student's age and your preferences, the lesson duration may be 30, 45 or 60 minutes. This should be reviewed at the first lesson to ensure the duration is appropriate for the age and ability of the pupil.

How long it takes to learn to play cello?
There is no set answer of how long it takes to learn to play cello. With regular practice, a basic level of playing can be accomplished in a few months of lessons. Most of my students take music lessons on a long term basis because they want to be constantly improving and they find the lessons enjoyable.
What do you learn in your cello lessons?
In cello lessons, students will learn proper technique, theory, ear training, sight reading and classical repertoire in addition to selecting music of their choice. I make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your musical interests. At the first lesson I will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child.
